Every year on August 26, Women’s Equality Day marks a milestone in American history: the certification of the 19th Amendment in 1920, prohibiting the denial of voting rights on the basis of sex.

It was an enormous step forward. But equality has never been about a single date, a single law, or a single generation.

It is also about what women are able to do with the opportunities generations before them fought to create: build businesses, pursue ideas, lead teams, challenge industries, create financial independence, and decide for themselves what their lives and careers can become.

For Chaé Organics, that idea is personal.

Long before “clean beauty” became an industry buzzword, Linda Chaé was questioning what was being put into the products people used on their skin and in their homes.

Her path was anything but conventional.

Linda began experimenting with facial masks as a child alongside her grandmother. At only 21, she purchased a cosmetic and skincare line, financed the venture herself, and began selling products out of a yellow Volkswagen Bug.

Years later, she began developing Chaé formulations in her own kitchen. Production eventually grew beyond the kitchen and into increasingly sophisticated manufacturing—while Linda continued researching ingredients, formulation science, skin health, and safer approaches to personal care.

Equality means having the opportunity to build.

Linda’s story is one example of something much bigger.

Women’s progress is not measured only by the women whose names end up in history books. It can also be seen in the millions of women running companies, developing products, managing teams, caring for families, conducting research, opening shops, inventing new solutions, and turning ideas into livelihoods.

It is the freedom to take a chance on an idea.

To be taken seriously when you enter the room.

To earn, own, create, lead, and choose.

And sometimes, it is simply the ability to look at an industry that has always done something one way and say: we can do better.

Chaé Organics grew from that mindset.

Linda’s guiding philosophy became simple: Do No Harm.

That meant taking a harder look at personal care ingredients, challenging conventional formulation choices, and working toward products designed around both performance and a higher standard for what goes into them.

Building something different is rarely the easiest path. It requires persistence, curiosity, and the willingness to keep learning while the world around you changes.

Those qualities have carried Chaé from its earliest beginnings through decades of formulation, manufacturing, education, advocacy, and product development.

Women supporting women moves all of us forward.

Equality is also about what happens when women make room for one another.

Every woman who shares what she has learned makes the path a little clearer for someone coming behind her. Every woman who builds a company creates jobs, relationships, opportunities, and another example of what leadership can look like.

Every woman willing to speak up, experiment, fail, adapt, and try again makes it easier for the next person to imagine doing the same.

And Chaé would not have its story without the women who have been part of it along the way.

Celebrating how far we’ve come—and what comes next.

Women’s Equality Day gives us a reason to remember the women who opened doors before us.

But it should also make us look forward.

There is another girl discovering the thing she loves to do. Another woman considering whether she should finally start the business she has been thinking about. Another scientist asking a question nobody has asked before. Another entrepreneur wondering whether her idea is worth taking seriously.

It is.
